As Trail Stewards for Snowden Demonstration Forest and Elk Falls many volunteer hours are spent on our trails.
Recognized with our commitment to trail build and maintain, River City Cycle Club was the first cycling club to be permitted to build trails in a BC Park. Snowden and Elk Falls (Pumphouse) are home to over 100 km of trails.
In 2024, over 1400 hours of volunteer time was spent brushing, raking, clearing drainage, digging and slinging gold.
We manage a Destination Development BC grant working with 5 contractors to improve the Snowden trail system including:
Completion of Tres Hombres: the first adaptive trail in Snowden; part of a 14km adaptive loop!
Two beautiful new shelters built at the Riley Lake & Lost Lake lots
22 multi-use bridges replaced
3km of new trail built & 7km resurfaced/rerouted
Lookout Loop viewpoint upgraded
We can always use extra hands to help out. Join us on the next trail day!

OTHER ways to help out:
⚒ Contact trails@rivercitycycle.ca to connect for unscheduled trail work, brushing, raking and drainage needs.
The club has its own brusher so if you are interested we can line insured club members up with trails to tackle for brushing and raking.
Donations can be made through Trail Karma or by etransfer to treasurer@rivercitycycle.ca
Please include a memo indicating it’s for trails if sending an etransfer
